The Poetry Collective is located just 50 miles from Philadelphia, and it is home to seven talented poets with powerful voices. This is just a small sample of the many gifted poets in the city, and it's impossible to do justice to them all. We hope this album serves as a tribute to Philadelphia's vibrant poetic culture. Nicole has been helping to prepare collections for digitization, such as the Liberty Hall Collection at Kean University.
This collection contains manuscripts from the 18th to the early 20th centuries, which were derived from the Kean and Livingston families. Before joining the program, Nicole completed internships in recovery work at Vizcaya Museum and Gardens in Miami, conservation of wall paintings in a medieval church in Wiltshire (England), and preservation of books and papers at the Georgia Archives. At Norton GGI, I spent my summer in the Department of Medicine's Computational Biomedicine and Biomedical Data Science Section. During my internship, I worked as an academic linguist and part of the editorial services support staff, translating Chinese articles into English for publication in the Center's peer-reviewed journal, “Bamboo and Silk”. Alexis was an archive student assistant at Amherst College, where she worked with the Collection of Native Periodicals and other materials related to the Kim-Wait Eisenberg Collection of Native American Literature from the Archives and Special Collections of Amherst College.
